Invisalign® Go is a way to straighten teeth that are crooked or crowding, and Invisalign Go is a similar treatment to the original method of Invisalign®. Both involve the use of clear aligners, which can address problems with either the top or bottom arch of teeth or both. However, with Invisalign Go, there are a few differences, which can be quite beneficial to some patients. Continue reading to learn more.
A quick guide to Invisalign Go
Here is everything that is important to know about Invisalign Go, which is a popular method for teeth straightening. Reviewing this information when looking into all the available options can be helpful.
The treatment process
Invisalign Go follows a regimented treatment process that starts with images being taken of the teeth and mouth. These images are sent to an Invisalign Go lab, where techs will determine how many trays are necessary for the patients, along with an estimated treatment timeline. This helps the dentist lay out the full treatment process for the patient.
From there, the patient will start with the first set of aligners, which will be worn for a few weeks before being replaced by the next set. On average, Invisalign Go aligners are worn for a significantly shorter time period than the traditional route, which can take up to a year or more. Invisalign Go may be able to provide the desired results in as little as four to five months.
Expectations
As with the traditional route, Invisalign Go is a treatment method that requires extreme discipline on the wearer's part. Those who are not able to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day will experience delayed treatment times and possible skewed results.
Additionally, Invisalign Go has aligners that need to be removed before eating and drinking anything other than water. But the cleaning methods and care tips are typically the same. Aligners should be cleaned in a solution at least once a day to ensure that bacteria does not build up on them.
What else to know
Something that is crucial to know about Invisalign Go is that not everyone makes a good candidate for them. Since the treatment works significantly faster than the traditional route, it is typically only suitable for those who meet specific criteria. For example, those with complex teeth issues, such as extreme crowding or bite correction needs, will not typically have success with Invisalign Go.
